Thomas Caldicott b1837 – Assistant Overseer of the Poor in Coventry

Thomas Caldicott originally started life as a ribbon manufacturer in Coventry, Warwickshire, working for J. and T.P. Caldicott, but as the silk industry went into decline he became the Assistant Overseer of the Poor for the City.

He married Harriet Caldicott in Rugby, Warwickshire in 1864 and the couple had a daughter, Edith Emily. Harriet died in 1872 and Thomas remarried in 1874 to a widow, Ann Baker Learesley (nee Cormley) He died on his 85th birthday at his home at 17, Warwick Row, Coventry.
